Why Harper Must GO for the Sake of Canada

Published by moonsilk under global Edit This

Another example of giving up our rights blindly is the uncanny parallel between Bush and Canada’s PM Stephen Harper. Harper’s agenda may likely prove to be more insidious at the end of the day though …

So if Canadians wondered, and they did, how it was possible Americans allowed someone like Bush to become the elected – now they have their own pompous erratic leader to reflect on for many generations. And yes, Harper is making a jackass out of Canada.

How did this happen? Well, it happens when we’re all fast asleep and forget about our collective responsibilities to hold onto our rights & freedoms together. I believe that election had one of Canada’s lowest attendances historically, with bare minimum youth participation.

What did the world witness with Obama’s election?: A huge voting participation, especially of youth. But it took the experiences of the Bush administration for America to wake up and become a joined people again.

Indeed the new religious gimmick is sort of weird for Canadians as well, but we have to hope those sucked into the movement will come to their senses and realize those in power who use the name of God aren’t necessarily advocating God’s fair and just principles. The Canadian constitution was built upon spiritual principles of fairness and equity, and Harper is already disregarding the constitution – what kind of mockery is that?

But it’s even worse yet. Why would Canadians elect someone who publicly felt Alberta could and should be separate? It’s like asking for the disruption in the unity of Canada … If Harper was gung ho to be a separatist why later would he want to represent the unity of Canada as the Prime Minister of Canada? Let’s just say the unity of Canada is the last agenda on his list.

The biggest red flag Canadians should be alarmed with are Harper’s words/quote:
“Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status.”

More people need to get concerned with this statement, coupled with the fact he wanted to separate Alberta and indicated he’d rule Canada the Albertan way? Harper is not proud of, nor does he believe in Canada – so why is he elected to represent Canada?

Harper has made a jackass out of Canada internationally time and time again, and with this statement that says it ALL. Harper also internationally made Canada look bad by rejecting the Kyoto Accord stating it was fundamentally ‘a socialist scheme’.

But we’ve got to believe the International community knows Harper is not a true reflection or representative of Canada which was always displayed prior in its Prime Ministers overall.

In the 1st place Harper should understand Canadian history. Canada was part of the monarchy and is sovereign. Is the UK a socialist nation? No. But it leans to the left. Is the European health plan Socialist. No. (And it’s actually the model every nation should be adopting!) Canada is and never has been listed as one of the socialist countries of the world along with socialist countries such as Cuba, Vietnam etc etc. Nor has the UK!! (So stop ignorantly calling Canada a socialist country if you’ve ever erroneously done that!)

Canada has always followed European traditions rather than the United States. Even Thanksgiving is based on the European date, not of the United States. Canada is still part of the commonwealth, although Canada formed its own constitution.
In fact, as part of the commonwealth, Canadians have various rights within the UK including the right of abode to live and work in the UK.

This is because Canada – historically one of the greatest nations in the world which the global community has recognized a long time now – allows its citizens dual and multi-citizenship. It also allows the right of return and free access in and out of its borders to all citizens. All of these rights, and so many more, are based on Canada’s great democratic constitution and unique cultural history.

But Harper states Canada is a second-rate status? And, that Canada is part of the United States? It seems to me Canada is diverse as it states it has been. It has maintained ties with its European roots, and has also blended in certain ways with their Southern friends.

But in all of that, Canada is still a unique culture despite what certain leaders would like to say about Canada (including the prior PM Mulroney). Canada believes in the multi-cultural because that is a basic tenant of ‘social democracy’.

And to clear up the continual misconceptions of some Americans, or even Canadian dissenters such as Harper himself a social democracy is primarily a political activism, not an economic active. Social democracies have mixed economies. Social democracies reform capitalism, but are not anti - capitalist. A social democracy essentially makes provision for the social disadvantages that capitalism produces in any society. In short, social democracies are a long shot away from the ideologies of political socialism, and even further removed from communism.

So it would be grand if those like Harper and others that don’t truly comprehend the political and historical social nuances of Canada finally grasp these finer nuances that has made Canada’s programs/rights and freedoms an envy worldwide for a long time.

The irony of all this is while Harper is attempting systematically to dismantle what Canada stands for, while publically tearing down Canada with his statements, the United States gained Obama whom has the ability to finally restore the United States back to its former glory; while also weeding out the weak links and speeding up to the global economy much like Europe has and Canada (did). Harper, and this new Conservative Party based on its immersion with the new Canadian Alliance Party is bringing regression, not progression. And it stands to threaten all Canada has stood for and worked for.

Let’s take for instance this: Canada’s social democratic constitution states ALL Canadians have the right of return back into Canada. Harper has continually betrayed Canadian citizens through the examples of Abousfian Abdelrazik and Omar Khadr being refused the right of return. The blatant disregard of the constitution within the new conservative party led by Stephen Harper is the scariest wake-up call and subliminal threat well before the threat of losing the many wonderful Canadian social benefits.

It’s time for Canada to be proud and get back to its roots because as I believe it’s possible for any group or nation to lose all it had previously worked toward. Now would Canada be proud to be a mini-extension of the United States with a dictator who disregards the constitution of Canada or be proud to be the unique social democracy that impressed the world many times?

The total irony of Harper’s false ideology is while he states Canada is in actuality a mini-extension (and second rate status) United States, his agenda is to actually make Canada, in fact, That. And if the tables were turned, Americans would be fighting for their rights and sovereignty too.

For more of a synopsis as to why Harper must be axed out as the future PM of Canada please read excerpt in the Canadian Charger.
