‘Feast of Fondue for the Holidays’
I love the holidays for many reasons, and one of them is I love food :) I do relish the all-traditional North American holiday cuisine laid out with cranberry concoctions, home-made stuffing, a perfectly basted turkey and all the festive trimmings. Yet, I met up with a different group of friends; they introduced me to the feast of fondue during the holiday seasons. I had always seemed to whip up a chocolate fondue for occasions, but I was limited in knowledge to the vast array of fondue recipes that exist. Since those years, I now include fondue with holidays for an alternative fun way of eating and socializing together.
Fondue is not just a food - it is a social event. Fondues are the perfect party choice. We had entertained the idea for this Christmas holiday, but now we are thinking we will make a feast for the New Year festivities instead, since we are not celebrating at home this Christmas. In fact, I already made a menu planner with about 10 varied fondue recipes we can experiment with over the New Year partying. My mouth has been watering :) I will post a few fondue recipes before New Year’s as well. Here are some of the various fondue categories:
-dessert
-oil
-cheese
-broth
-dipping sauces
As you can see, there is much variety within a fondue menu. If you are anything like me, I love variety and bite-sized foods. For something different, try Haagen Dazs new fondue ice cream. Make ball size scoops and dip into your favorite chocolate fondue! Yummy.
