Enigma Poster

This March 28th 2009 the One Hour, No Power campaign will make its way for a third year since 2007 when Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia with over 2 million participants. In 2007, residences and businesses turned off their lights for one full hour, and each year since the movement expands exponentially.

The anticipated numbers for 2009 are 1 billion people worldwide. Everyone will turn off their electricity from 20h00 to 21h00 March 28th for Earth Hour 2009, a global event using collective action to campaign against global warming and climate change.

It’s in the small shifts, the quantum leap, that can make the most difference. And this is what the One Hour, No Power campaign is doing - creating change on a micro level that continues to span outward effortlessly.

It’s a date to vote for your Earth for one full hour. It could be the most important election all year. Are you ready?

This is a great idea. It is a start toward an end but we must realize it is only the beginning. We as individuals really need to start brainstorming. Mr Dprince knows that we have the capability and the drive to do what is necessary. The only question is will we and will it be soon enough?

    Lights out everyone.

That’s great Slcolman - are you going to participate this year too? Yes, it does likely save a considerable amount of energy for one hour when you rally think about it. Yet, it’s also a vote - it’s a great election :)
